Browser DOS build of the 1996 release, with a working multiplayer lobby.

What it is

Red Alert runs here through a browser DOS environment that also offers a multiplayer lobby. You can skirmish against the computer or join a browser match, and the original 1996 balance and unit roster are preserved because it is the real DOS build rather than a remake. Real-time strategy is unplayable without a mouse, so this is not a touch-friendly entry.

What you need

  • A desktop browser
  • A mouse, which real-time strategy genuinely requires
  • A stable connection if you join multiplayer

How to open it

  1. Open the Red Alert multiplayer page.
  2. Create or join a lobby.
  3. Read the in-game controls before the first match starts.
